There is a legend about the appearance of Tbilisi: Georgian King Vakhtang Gorgasali (V century), pheasant hunting shot, he fell in the sulfur springs and welded. In place of these warm sulfur springs and built a warm Tbilisi (tbili – in Georgian means warm). Presumably in the same place where the hunting king built a fortress Narikala. Today, at the foot of the fortress is Abanotubani district and the famous Tbilisi sulfur baths. Warm sulfuric water flows into the bath directly out of the ground, it is very useful for the skin and the organism as a whole.
By the fortress we will ascend by cable car. There are wonderful views of the city. You can make wonderful pictures and see Tbilisi citadel heights. Down we go down the street Vifliemskoy – ladder in an urban area Sololaki. From our bus will take you to the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity Sameba. Following a tour of the cathedral you will visit the “Water Ishino” – an institution where made famous lemonade, and try to “penovani” – Tbilisi khachapuri.
After lunch, our tour bus will take you to Mount Mtatsminda. Mtatsminda, the holy mountain, in the V century in a cave on her elephant lived especially revered in Georgia Saint David Gareji. In the XIX century over the cave of St. David Temple, and grew up around the Pantheon was built. The first buried in the Holy Mount of the Russian writer and diplomat Alexander Griboyedov. His tomb, and beside the grave of his wife, Nina Chavchavadze, are still here. From Saint David we rising above the observation deck at the top of the mountain, where in good weather can be seen the snowy peaks of the Greater Caucasus.
